Appeal after tyres slashed in Hatfield |

Dear Resident, Officers are asking residents to check CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage after a number of cars had their tyres slashed in Hatfield. Police received reports of seven vehicles targeted in Wellfield Road, Ely Close and the town centre on Monday night (5 October) into Tuesday (6 October). Enquiries are being carried out into the incident and officers are keen to hear from anyone who might have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage in the area. Chief Inspector Chris Rutter said: “This has had a huge impact on the victims and we are carrying out extensive enquiries to find the person(s) responsible. If you live or work in the area and have CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage, please take a look to see if there is anything captured that might help us. “We are interested in footage between 7pm on Monday and 8am the following morning. It’s likely the offender(s) travelled along The Common and Lemsford Road so if you live in these areas, please check any footage you may have. “Similarly, if you have information that you think might help, please get in touch quoting crime reference 41/96138/26.” You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
